Warner Bros have unleashed brand new posters for Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, and are having some good fun with them.
Batman: Arkham City was one of 2011′s biggest games, received with both critical and commercial success; Arkham City has become revered as one of the best super hero games of all time. So, with another Lego Batman game on the way, Warner Bros is using Arkham City’s success to their advantage.
Three posters have been released mimicking posters previously released for Arkham City. Catwoman, Joker, and Robin have gotten the Lego treatment in these funny posters. They still have the same poses and items from the Arkham City posters, but now they’re all Legofied. We have to admit, this is some pretty smart marketing.
Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is a sequel to 2008’s Lego Batman: The Videogame. This time around, a whole bunch of famous DC villains invade Gotham City thanks to Joker forming an alliance with Lex Luthor. Batman isn’t alone in fighting all this crime though. DC heroes have also come to town to help Batman sort through the sudden surge in crime. Superman, Wonder Woman, Nightwing, Martian Manhunter, the Flash, Batgirl and Green Lantern among others have all been confirmed as playable characters.
In a change from previous Lego games, Lego Batman 2 will feature an open-world setting rather than the traditional world-hubs seen in previous titles. This is also the first Lego game to feature split-screen co-op play.
Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes launches June 19 in North America and June 27 in Europe on PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PS Vita, 3DS, DS, and Wii.
