Telltale Games has revealed that their forthcoming episodic downloadable series based upon Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead will receive a demo on Xbox 360.
The confirmation comes from Telltale’s Jake Rodkin, who confirmed the news on the official Telltale forums in response to queries made by its users.
“I don’t know about every platform but I know that there will be a demo on the Xbox 360 version because every game in Xbox Live Arcade has a demo” confirmed Jake Rodkin.
It’s still unclear as to whether the PlayStation Network and PC release will receive a similar treatment, but considering Telltale’s track record, we’d say it’s unlikely.
The Walking Dead is a five-part downloadable episodic series, which sees players enter the world of Robert Kirkman’s award-winning comic book series, where they will take on the role of Lee Everett, a convicted criminal who has been given a second chance after the arrival of the undead. Everett’s story runs in parallel to that of Deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes, with players having the opportunity to meet people and visit locations that are featured throughout the comic book series and the AMC television series.
Telltale previously announced that those who pre-order the entire first season of the game will be entered into a competition that will see one lucky winner be given the opportunity to join the cast of The Walking Dead in episode four, where they will start out as a human before being gruesomely killed, only to be later resurrected and put down once and for all.
The first episode of The Walking Dead will release later this month on Xbox Live for 400 MS Points and on PlayStation Network, PC and Mac for $4.99.
